Paraeducator at Fridley Middle School - Hallway Monitor Job Summary The Paraeducator is a district employee who is primarily engaged in direct interaction with one or more pupils for activities according to district-approved curriculum and teacher-approved plan for the student, physical or behavior management, inclusion or other activities.

Hours/day 6.5 hours/day M-F

Bargaining Unit Paraeducators

Salary Range Step 1 at $22.50/hr to Step 5 at $26.00/hr, placement will vary depending on education and experience. View salary grid on the respective bargaining unit listed above, accessible via our Master Agreements page.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

Ability to relate to and communicate with staff and students

Patience and flexibility in working with special needs students

Willingness to expand skills

Ability to take direction of supervising teacher

Ability to keep information confidential

Ability to model and reinforce appropriate verbal and interpersonal behavior

Minimum Qualifications

Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the Minnesota Department of Education, Fridley Public Schools must meet highly qualified requirements. Therefore, upon hire, all hires must be Highly Qualified – Applicants meet the Highly Qualified requirement if they have:

Two years of study at an institution of higher education; Minnesota’s standard; A minimum of 60 semester credits or the amount required to complete two years of full-time enrollment as determined by the institution attended OR

An Associate’s (or higher) degree; Minnesota’s standard: An AA, AS, AAS, (or higher) degree

Received a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment
