The Custodial Attendant position is well-suited for reliable, detail-oriented adults seeking steady part-time work in a community-focused environment. This role offers up to 20 hours per week at the Berthoud Recreation Center and is essential in supporting the daily operations of our facility. The position is responsible for routine custodial duties, including but not limited to performing daily cleaning tasks, maintaining cleanliness throughout the building, supporting room setups, and completing additional assigned responsibilities that ensure a safe and welcoming environment for our members and guests.
Schedule: Normal working hours include Monday and Tuesday morning shifts, as well as weekend shifts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, which include both morning and afternoon availability. Hours are subject to change based on special events, building needs, and holidays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Room setups and cleaning in between birthday parties
Custodial work throughout the building
Follow written and /or verbal instructions and daily tasks.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and the general public.
Work flexible hours including weekends and holidays, as work demands.
Assist in minor maintenance and repair tasks.
Operate small equipment such as vacuum, buffers, etc.
Perform related duties and responsibilities assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Education/Experience:
Any combination of education and experience may be considered for the position. A typical way to demonstrate the education and experience necessary for the position is:
No experience necessary
Knowledge of maintenance and minor repair as it relates to public buildings
Current certification in Community CPR, First Aid and AED or within 3 months of hire
Ability to work through frequent interruptions
Ability to work weekdays and some nights, weekends, evenings and holidays
Knowledge of how to properly manage exposure to chemicals, electrical and plumbing materials and the use of SDS sheets.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of general office software.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work with moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and chemicals such as, cleaning chemcials, paints, chemicals and /or similar solutions. The employee may be exposed to outdoor weather condition. The employee may regularly travel to and from buildings to complete job responsibilities and tasks assigned.
The noise level in the work environment may be loud at times with frequent interruptions and frequent contact with members of the public.

Manual dexterity enough to complete daily work such as room setups/breakdowns, cleaning, drive and operate motor vehicles and lifts, and operate other office equipment and complete paperwork.
