The Opportunity at Hand We are seeking passionate, empathetic individuals to join as Ophthalmic Technicians and Scribes. Techs handle all pre‑exam tasks: gathering and documenting patient history, performing routine and ancillary tests, and assisting the provider during examinations. Scribes transcribe diagnoses, prescriptions, and instructions with high precision, supporting ophthalmologists in diagnosing and treating eye disorders.
Our Expectations of You
Test and record patient acuity (far, near, peripheral, depth, color)
Apply drops for anesthesia, dilation, and medication; collect and process specimens
Triage emergency cases and manage patient flow
Prepare patients and procedure rooms, assisting ophthalmologists as needed
Perform first‑level maintenance on ophthalmic equipment and report malfunctions
Use infection control techniques, universal precautions, and maintain confidentiality at all times
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Excellent verbal and written communication
Outgoing and patient‑centered service mindset
Dependable problem‑solving ability in stressful situations
Positive, can‑do attitude and teamwork orientation
Adaptability and flexibility with changing demands
Knowledge of ocular pharmacology is a plus but not required
Physical ability to stand, walk, handle equipment, and occasionally lift up to 10 pounds
