The Position Utility Pipe Layer / Laborer responsible for installing, aligning, and inspecting underground utilities such as water mains, sewer lines, storm drains, and other piping systems. Tasks include preparing trenches, laying pipe to grade, ensuring proper connections, maintaining equipment, clean‑up, and other duties assigned by the Foreman or management. Must be able to lift 75 pounds.

Location Projects vary; reliable transportation required with willingness to travel within Dane County.
Candidate Requirements
Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
Class A CDL strongly desired.
High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
Punctual and dependable.
Ability to work varied hours including nights, early mornings, and weekends.
Tolerate variable weather, dirty and dusty environments.
Membership in a local laborer union or willingness to join is required; union membership not required before employment.
3–5 years road construction laborer experience preferred.
Minimum 6 months experience in assembling and installing sanitary sewer pipe and manholes, water main, and storm sewer pipe and manholes.
Knowledge of confined spaces, OSHA trenching and sloping preferred.
Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
