Hyperbaric Technician - Full Time Days
Location: Northwestern Medicine Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital
Salary: $28.19 - $35.24 per hour.

Description Reflects the mission, vision, values of NM, adheres to Code of Ethics, and complies with all policies, regulations, accreditation.
Hours: 0730-1600 generally, Monday through Friday. Start/end may vary according to patient/clinic needs.
Responsibilities
Prepares, educates, and orients patients about Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, including lifting or transferring patients per policy, preparing them for treatment, and answering their questions.
Administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy as prescribed by the hyperbaric provider, monitoring and controlling the chamber equipment, patient responses, and making necessary adjustments for safety and effectiveness.
Makes data entries for daily hyperbaric treatments and wound care clinic visits, keeping complete and accurate patient records, including photo uploads.
Operates and maintains the hyperbaric chamber and other support oxygen systems as required.
Participates in safety program activities, such as assisting with safety drills.
Performs transcutaneous oxygen monitoring testing per departmental policy.
Performs blood glucose monitoring per patient diagnosis.
Supports clinical hyperbaric facility accreditation.
Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications Required:
High School Diploma or GED (General Education Development)
Current healthcare professional certification or license as applicable in the state of practice (to maintain throughout employment). This applies to:
Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Military: Corpsman or Medical Services Specialist
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic
Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
Certified Hyperbaric Specialist (CHS)
Certified Hyperbaric Registered Nurse (CHRN)
Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA)
Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT)
Certified or Licensed Nursing Assistant (CNA or LNA)
Physical Therapist or Physical Therapy Assistant (PT or PTA)
Or completion of Hyperbaric Training from the US Department of Defense (DOD): e.g., US Navy, Army or Coast Guard Diver (1st Class, 2nd Class or Master designation) or US Air Force Aerospace Physiology Specialist
Pre- or post-hire completion of Introductory Hyperbaric Training Course within 3 months of hire.
Preferred
Certified Hyperbaric Technician (CHT)
Certified Hyperbaric Specialist (CHS)
Minimum of two (2) or more years’ experience in healthcare preferred.
Prior experience in wound or critical care is preferred.
