Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Be enrolled full‑ or part‑time in a degree‑seeking graduate or undergraduate program with Fayetteville State University.
Primary Purpose of the Position:
Referee:
Attends all required meetings and trainings.
May officiate and judge a variety of intramural sports, games, activities, and competitions.
Officiates/judges activities occurring either indoor or outdoor depending on the activity/sport.
Scorekeeper:
Maintains accurate scoreboard and player statistics.
Works with game officials to ensure a fair contest.
Maintains official team rosters.
Keeps time by starting and stopping the clock.
Facilities Monitor:
Communicates problems or concerns to the facilitator/supervisor.
Ensures equipment is checked in and checked out.
Ensures facility policies are being adhered to.
Sets up, breaks down, and cleans up equipment.
Lifeguard:
Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding and First Aid Certification required.
Rescues swimmers in distress.
Administers first aid and artificial respiration.
Teaches swimming.
Maintains order and discipline.
Helps keep the area clean.
Enforces rules and regulations.
Stays alert to detect hazardous conditions.
Supervises swimming activities.
Ensures policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed.
Warns swimmers of improper activities or danger.
Evaluates conditions for safety.
Initiates aquatics emergency action plan.
Inspects waterfront, dock, equipment, and water.
Maintains equipment and first aid inventory.
