Responsibilities
Locates and marks DU facilities, including Electric, Fiber, Gas, Water, and Wastewater system for contractors, sub-contractors, customers, and DU crews as required.
Installs permanent line markers when appropriate to ensure the safety of facilities and customers.
Documents locates through the use of web-based data entry, written reports and or photographs as necessary.
Reads and interprets maps and work order assignments.
Recommends process changes to improve the accuracy of locates.
Performs maintenance and repair to locating equipment and assigned vehicles.
Assists EGWWW operations crews with line locating when needed.
Assists with Measurement Tech duties.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED and minimum
1-2 years of utility locating experience preferred.
Previous experience with construction crew locating is applicable.
Ability to read, interpret and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, drawings, and procedure manuals.
Ability to prepare routine reports and short correspondence.
Ability to interact and effectively communicate with supervisors, co-workers, customers, and contractors.
Requires ability to communicate via radio and cellular phone.
