Position Description:
The Barista creates a memorable customer experience by providing fast, friendly service and consistent, quality products. This role is responsible for performing all job duties in a manner consistent with current company processes and procedures and maintaining all food safety and sanitation standards.
Essential Duties:
Welcoming customers, informing them about specials or new items, answering questions, and accepting orders and payments
Welcome questions and seek opportunities to educate on our products
Preparing specialty coffee drinks of the very highest quality, as well as teas and other beverages
Maintain coffee knowledge on current offerings and clearly communicate product information to customers
Manage cash drawer, following established cash handling procedures
Serve all customer orders according to recipe and aesthetic guidelines
Deliver products within established speed of service guidelines and identify drink upon delivery
Operate and maintain cleanliness of all store equipment
Optimize workflow efficiency by restocking workstations, food, supplies, and merchandise
Maintain cleanliness of coworker and customer areas
Demonstrate genuine appreciation to each customer and to your fellow team members

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience in food and beverage preparation or customer service preferred
Extensive training and willingness to pursue excellence in learning about drink preparation and food offerings
Food Handlers Certification or willingness to obtain a Food Handlers Certification

Working Conditions: Work indoors most of the time, but may occasionally work in an outdoor setting. Often wear a special uniform or dress according to dress code. Work very near coworkers and customers. May exposed to hot temperatures. May kneel or stoop to reach ingredients or equipment.
Barista Physical Requirements:
Stand for long periods of time.
Repeat the same movements. Use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Understand the speech of another person including coworkers, customers, and vendors.
Speak clearly so listeners can understand.
See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
