9/11 Memorial & Museum: Visitor Services Volunteer
Interact with people from all over the world. Honor, remember, and volunteer. The National September 11 Memorial & Museum honors and remembers the nearly 3,000 people killed in the attacks of September 11, 2001 and February 26, 1993. Visitor Services volunteers are an integral part of our team at the Memorial & Museum as we welcome millions of visitors each year from around the world. DETAILS: Visitor Services volunteers play a critical role by connecting with visitors and providing a meaningful experience both on the 9/11 Memorial and in the Museum. We are seeking Visitor Services volunteers from NYC and the tri-state area who are friendly, outgoing, and comfortable assisting Memorial & Museum visitors. Volunteers of all ages 16+ are welcome. Responsibilities include: - Welcome and greet visitors - Proactively offer assistance, answer questions - Inform visitors about programs and exhibitions available inside the Museum - Help with directions With training, you can learn to provide excellent service to our visitors and help them remember 9/11. TIME COMMITMENT: We recommend volunteers work a four-hour shift per week for at least six months. If you volunteer weekends, you have the option to volunteer one 4-hour shift every other week. We ask that you maintain the same shift each week, when possible. We are also looking to increase our number of volunteers with military backgrounds! We encourage you to apply and mention if you are a veteran in your application.
