WHAT YOU WILL DO: The Help Desk Technician is a non-exempt position responsible for providing technical support and assistance to agency staff, contractors, interns, and volunteers. This is the initial support level responsible for basic customer issues.
Provide agency personnel with software applications support, hardware support, and phone voicemail support. This includes troubleshooting methods such as verifying physical layer issues, resolving username and password problems, uninstalling/reinstalling basic software applications, verification of proper hardware and software setup, and assistance with navigating around application menus
Assist in the installation and maintenance of all computer hardware, software, and help-desk support of basic personal computer software
Assist in providing training and support for phone systems
Installation and troubleshooting of hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, disk drives, etc., and repair computer and phone equipment and mobile phones
Assist with maintaining an adequate stock of computer supplies necessary to ensure efficient and ongoing operation of computer equipment
Assist in maintaining an agency-wide inventory of all computer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, and assist with or complete the recycling of old equipment
Maintain an accurate accounting of all users to include logins, primary system used, and other identifying information
Prepare word processing documents, spreadsheets, and databases for technical support and training purposes
Perform all other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU NEED:
Associate degree in computer technology, equivalent technical school certification, CompTIA A+ or Network Certification, or substantial work experience
One (1) year of experience maintaining computer systems using Microsoft Windows operating systems preferred.
Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products
Technical documentation skills are a plus
Must possess good time management, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work under busy and time-pressure situations
Ability to coordinate multiple priorities efficiently
Ability to lift and/or carry office supplies, reports, files, etc., up to 50 lbs
Ability to perform functions in a sedentary position for long periods of time
Ability to travel within the assigned work area/region of the State of Florida. Must have a valid driver's license with auto insurance coverage.
