Teacher Assistant – Floater
Join your team at CPCD and give children a head start. This position begins on February 2nd, with a schedule of 40 hours per week. Full‑year and part‑year options are available.
Job Description Assist the classroom team in maintaining a safe, healthy, high‑quality learning environment that supports the development of the whole child. Comply with CPCD policies, Head Start Performance Standards, Colorado Department of Human Services licensing requirements, and Colorado Quality Standards for Early Childhood Education Services. Facilitate a balance of group and individualized experiences to promote school‑readiness skills as defined by CPCD’s School Readiness Action Plan. The Teacher Assistant Floater will travel among classrooms/sites as directed by the CD Supervisor.
Pay Scale
Step 1: High school diploma or equivalent & relevant experience – $17.48/hr
Step 2: Age‑appropriate CDA or Level II credential – $19.18/hr
Step 3: Colorado Department of Human Services Director Qualification (DQ)/Level 3 – $20.15/hr
Step 4: Same as Step 3 plus 12 credit hours in ECE (can include Pyramid Plus and EQIT) – $21.15/hr
Step 5: Associate Degree in ECE or related field (AA + 24 credit hours in ECE) – $22.20/hr

Required Qualifications
Reliable transportation; maintain minimum liability insurance as required by the State of Colorado
CDA or Early Childhood Professional Level II credential through the State of Colorado’s Professional Development Information System, or plan to obtain it within two years of hire
First Aid and CPR certification within 1 year of employment, thereafter maintained as required
Ability to lift/carry/manipulate up to 40 pounds
Successful completion of a pre‑employment physical examination, TB test, drug test (including marijuana), and background check
Preferred Qualifications
At least one year of successful work experience with children aged birth to five
Bilingual in English/Spanish or another language relevant to the community served
PDIS Level II – Certificate of Completion (DQ)
