Job Summary
Sysco has immediate openings for CDL A Delivery Truck Driver Trainees. You will train for a Class‑A CDL and learn how to safely operate a tractor‑trailer, unload and deliver products to an assigned route schedule, and build relationships with each customer using a positive, friendly attitude.
Duties and Responsibilities
Unload product from the trailer by hand or using a hand cart and place in the designated customer storage areas.
Transport product down ramps, stairs, or docks in all weather conditions.
Constantly bend, twist, and retrieve items from the trailer while loading and unloading product.
Verify delivery of items with the customer and obtain proper signatures.
Contact management for authorization when there are discrepancies on invoices and communicate all errors/returns.
Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip responsibilities following DOT regulations and Sysco policies.
Pick up, load, and unload damaged goods and customer returns and complete necessary paperwork.
Complete DOT logs (electronic or manual as required), company vehicle maintenance reports, and reconcile with the appropriate company representative as required.
Deliver product within the assigned route schedule and time windows.
Immediately inform the management team of any deviations.
Qualifications
Must be 21+ years of age.
Must obtain a valid CDL Permit and DOT medical certification prior to pre‑employment background check.
Must submit to and pass pre‑employment testing (drug screen, background check).
Must obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within ninety (90) days of the start date to remain actively employed.
Must have one year of distribution/warehouse experience or other military experience in lieu of the CDL permit and DOT medical certification may be obtained during the SkillBridge program for eligible participants.

License and Certification Requirements
Driver’s License with a “clean” driving record (no single DUI in the last three years and no multiple DUIs within the last seven years).
Physical Demands Frequently lift, push, or move product that weighs up to 100 pounds. Frequently reach up to 72″ to stack and unstack pallets.
Working Conditions Schedule flexibility is required (overtime hours, working weekends and holidays, and the ability to start and end at a variety of times).
