Supply Chain Technician - OR The Supply Chain Technician - OR is responsible for ordering, receiving storage and distribution of all supplies in the Operating Room. They will be responsible for assuring adequate inventory for surgeries, requesting supplies for upcoming cases, and working with VCU Health System and other stakeholders for additional needs.

Essential Job Statements

Ensure that all supplies are scanned, inventoried, pulled, put-away and replenished in accurate and timely manner.

Perform inventory management such as expiration dates, rotating stock, cycle, and inventory counts.

Inspect items to ensure they are not damaged or expired before stocking.

Confirm delivery dates, identify issues and resolutions to supervisor.

Assist with procedure cart build and replenishment.

Maintain supply carts to ensure supplies are organized and neatly stocked in the correct location and quantity.

Train all new supply chain technicians as appropriate.

Handle all urgent and emergent supply situations.

Assist in resolving back-order problems with prime vendors and the Purchasing Department.

Ensure responsibility and visible commitment of diversity equity and inclusion programs/initiatives through collaboration and implementation of initiatives across the health.

Minimum Qualifications 2+ years supply chain experience required.

Working knowledge of computers.

Previous healthcare supply chain experience preferred.

Working Conditions Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.

This role does not involve direct patient care; however, it is important to acknowledge the potential to encounter severely injured patients within the hospital environment.

Job duties may include access to and/or contact with medications and related supplies.
