Anticipated Hours Per Week Minimum: 3 Maximum: 19

Schedule AVID Tutors are required to work the same schedule every week, ideally on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, or Tuesday through Friday. A typical schedule is somewhere between 5-16 hours of work per week.

Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum Minimum: $17.50 Maximum: $24.00

Number of Positions 20+

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in a post‑secondary institution or a college graduate

Excellent communication skills

Organized, responsible, flexible, motivated, professional

Positive recommendations around attendance, attitude, and performance

Ability to commit to the entirety of the 2025-2026 school year (or at a minimum one semester)

Additional Desired Qualifications:

Previous experience working with diverse middle school or high school‑aged youth

Previous AVID tutoring experience

Experience with small group facilitation

Proficiency or fluency in both English and Spanish languages

Previous experience working in a school setting or with school staff

Experience working with students in a pre‑college or college readiness program

AVID Alumni are strongly encouraged to apply

Position Summary / Job Duties Responsibilities of the Position:

Support AVID scholars through facilitating small group tutorial sessions

Model inquiry, academic language, higher level thinking, and problem solving skills

Provide feedback on student work and group collaboration

Collaborate with a team of tutors and elective teachers to support scholars’ agency

Adhere to district/site policies and procedures

Engage in ongoing professional development

Physical Demands Classroom setting activities
