Position Summary / Essential Functions In-depth testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on complex electronics assemblies and subassemblies. Create detailed reports on customer return units and assist Quality and Engineering teams with failure analysis reports to identify root causes. RF testing and theory are essential to the job as well as performing the vital duties listed below.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoots digital, analog, RF, fiber-optic and high-voltage circuitry to component level using schematics, wiring diagrams, and drawings.
Conducts detailed tests on items such as RF cables, modules, continuity test continuity tests (Cirris or manual), controllers, and dispensers.
Performs Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) testing including vibration and temperature cycling as required.
Checks functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
Diagnoses, documents, reworks, and tests RF sub-component and final electronic products of moderate to high complexity as prescribed by drawings, electrical schematics, and/or procedures.
Strong ability to test and diagnose products utilizing schematics and test procedures.
Ability to collaborate with engineers on advanced troubleshooting.
Record failure data and test issues in databases as required. Work with quality engineers to document product repair changes. Evaluate results and recommend corrective action when required.
Prepare detailed reports of RMA findings documenting the results, methods and equipment used in evaluation as well as determining the root cause in some cases.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or 6+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Personal computer literate. Spreadsheets, word processing and presentations (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Must be able to operate volt meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, high voltage power supplies and other equipment associated with a normal test environment.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
The work area is usually subject to air conditioning / heating.
Will occasionally work with voltages up to 15000 volts.
