We are looking to add a compassionate Medication Aide to our amazing Nursing Team!
Keystone Treatment Center is a 126 Bed Treatment Center providing services to adults on an inpatient basis. Keystone is located in Canton SD, just a short drive from Sioux Falls, SD.
You will be working with the Nursing team in providing therapeutic care to our patients.

Shifts and Hours
We have a full‑time night position available. (6:30 pm to 7:00 am)
Scheduled Shifts are 12 Hours, 3 Days per week with shift differentials available
All Full Time Medication Tech Rotate Weekend Shifts.
Training and Orientation Keystone Treatment Center is committed to Training and Safety. All New Hire Medication Aides will attend a 2 Day Facility Orientation and Patient Treatment Program Overview before spending 2 Weeks in Unit Orientation with a Preceptor. We can accommodate shadow shifts for interested candidates!
Essential Functions
Administer prescribed medications to patients according to established protocols and physician orders.
Prepare and organize medication doses, including oral, topical, and other forms as directed.
Ensure medications are stored and handled in accordance with safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Document patient interactions and report changes in patient conditions or behaviors by communicating with team. Significant changes are reported to nurse immediately.
Document timely, accurate, and appropriate information in patient medical record.
Identify self to patient and visitors promptly and respond to patient requests quickly.
Respond to distressed patients in a non‑threatening manner and attempt to understand the source of distress.
Apply de‑escalation techniques to help manage patient’s emotions, behavior, and participation in treatment.
Communicate clearly and effectively to patients, family members, guests, and other members of the health care team.
Adherence to work schedule and overall attendance.
Follow established policies, procedures, and standards for patient care.
Stay informed about changes in medication practices and healthcare regulations.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development as required.
Collaborate with other staff in working with the population of the facility to treat and rehabilitate.
Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
Other Functions
Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
Education / Experience / Skill Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of a Medication Technician/Aide training program as required by the state in which the facility is located.
Basic understanding of pharmacology and medication administration techniques.
Previous experience in a behavioral health setting preferred.
Knowledge and experience working with the population of the facility preferred.
Licenses / Designations / Certifications
Certification as a Medication Technician/Aide, as required by the state in which the facility is located.
CPR and de‑escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
First aid may be required based on state or facility.
