K-5th ELA Teacher Applicant Pool - IDEA Tarrant County Region (26-27) IDEA Public Schools is seeking a K-5th English Language Arts teacher for its IDEA Tarrant County Region to join our mission of ensuring every IDEA student masters the academic and social skills necessary to succeed in college.

Set ambitious goals for student achievement and engage students, families, and the community.

Create a powerful learning environment, plan and deliver rigorous instruction, assess for mastery, track progress, and adjust instruction based on data.

Compensation

Starting teacher salary for 0 years of experience: $63,500. Stipends for certifications, credentials, and campus leadership range from $500–$4,000 each.

Additional hour‑based compensation for after‑school tutoring or Saturday school assignments.

Paid Family Leave: up to 8 weeks for birth or adoption based on tenure.

Tuition Reimbursement: up to 50% of tuition, max $5,250 per year.

Employer‑Paid Mental/Behavioral Health: 5 face‑to‑face counseling sessions per year, unlimited 24/7 telephonic counseling.

Relocation allowance may be offered if applicable.

Qualifications

High level of content‑area proficiency evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or relevant work experience.

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four‑year institution (required).

Experience in a K‑12 classroom setting (strongly preferred).

State certification preferred but not required.

Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of core academic subject assigned and ability to pass an IDEA content assessment.

Knowledge of curriculum and instruction.

Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior.

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment.

Responsibilities

Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula to meet ambitious academic expectations.

Learn, master, and deliver relevant content and grade‑level curriculum, core content objectives, and texts.

Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.

Use formal and informal assessments to track each student’s progress, adjust lesson plans, and update the gradebook weekly.

Communicate student progress to students and families weekly.

Use technology to improve student achievement and manage work‑related tasks.

Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system aligned to campus‑wide initiatives while developing students’ character and sense of community.

Help shape and develop a school‑wide culture that fosters a productive learning environment for each student.

Maintain a cooperative relationship with students and families based on trust and respect.

Host necessary tutoring sessions to meet all students’ needs.

Participate in weekly manager check‑ins, grade‑level meetings, before and after‑school duties, and school‑wide meetings and functions.

Engage in summer and year‑long district, school, and personal learning and development.

Minimum of 40+ hours spent at school per week.

Additional responsibilities may include after‑school tutoring or Saturday school based on needs.
