Job Description You will perform a wide range of clerical duties to enhance staff ability to provide quality services to the citizens of Pennsylvania. This includes data entry, customer service, scanning, imaging, filing, answering phones, processing mail and voicemails, and other general office duties. You will interact with the general public in a courteous and professional manner both in person and via telephone. Supervision is provided by a Clerical Supervisor.
Work Schedule and Additional Information
Full‑time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
Work hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday with a 1‑hour lunch.
Travel and overtime may be required as needed.
DHS provides benefits, contractual pay increases, paid holidays and leave entitlements, opportunities for advancement, and shift selection.
Work conditions: duties performed in a controlled office environment; reassignment to other work sites may occur depending on operational needs.
Telework: the position may be eligible for part‑time telework. Specific details will be discussed during the interview process. A securely configured high‑speed internet connection and approved Pennsylvania location are required for telework.
Salary: new employees will begin at an annual starting salary of $36,108 (before taxes).
Qualifications Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (or equivalent Federal Government or Commonwealth job title).
High school graduation.
Equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements
Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirements.

Preference for candidates residing in Northumberland County. Candidates from other counties may be considered if no eligible residents apply.
Must be able to perform essential job functions.
