Overview Valley Health Physician Alliance (VHPA) is part of Independence Physician Management, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services (UHS), serving communities across the Las Vegas Valley. The organization supports a growing healthcare system that includes hospitals, behavioral health facilities, and outpatient centers.

Responsibilities

Review and coordinate external patient referrals for potential admission.

Provide accurate evaluation of the facility’s capacity and capability to meet referred patients’ needs.

Schedule referrals and coordinate pre‑authorization & pre‑certification of tests and procedures.

Communicate directly with clinics, referred clinics, and patients.

Review clinical data to report medical necessity to insurance companies.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

Scheduling referrals for patients, providers, pre‑authorizing & pre‑certifying tests/procedures.

Scheduling of other tests with facilities at the request of providers and/or staff.

Directly communicate with clinics, referred to clinics, and patients.

Review clinical data to report medical necessity to insurance companies.

All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school graduate or GED required.

Communicates effectively with clinics and hospitals.

Communicates information to appropriate departments and individuals.

Schedules tests and referral appointments within 24 hours of receiving the physician order.

Notifies patients within 24 hours of their appointment.

Pre‑certifies appropriate tests with insurance companies within 48 hours of the physician order.

Other duties as assigned.

Work Experience

Minimum of two years’ experience in a healthcare or clinical setting.
