Title: Front Desk Representative
Location: Lewisville, TX
Duration: 3-month contract to hire
Pay rate: $21/hour
We’re looking for someone who can keep the office running smoothly with minimal direction—a true self-starter. This person should be personable and empathetic with patients, able to build trust and rapport, while also remaining calm, composed, and solution‑oriented in challenging situations. Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to de‑escalate issues are key, along with the confidence and professionalism to set boundaries when needed.
Must Haves At least 2-3 years of excellent customer service experience Experience working as a front desk, medical receptionist, or medical office administrator Interest in working in the healthcare industry Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, high pressure settings Muti‑tasker and can stay on track Compassionate and empathetic Can pass federal and drug background check Open to going full time
Plusses Proficient in Microsoft Teams Previous experience in a medical office
Day to Day The Front Desk Receptionist plays a crucial role in providing excellent patient care and ensuring smooth clinic operations. They are responsible for performing a variety of clerical and administrative duties to support front desk operations at Texas Oncology’s service centers. Here are some key responsibilities:
Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience. Register patients, verify insurance information, and collect necessary paperwork. Schedule appointments and manage patient flow at the front desk. Answer phone calls, route inquiries, and provide information to patients and staff. Maintain accurate patient records and update necessary information. Assist with billing and insurance‑related inquiries. Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to ensure efficient patient care. Coordinate with other departments within the clinic. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues. Handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
