Join our team as a Multi Crafts Maintenance Technician where you will be a versatile asset to the operations team. You will collaborate with various departments and contribute to preventing issues in the plant environment, foster an initiative‑taking and safe maintenance approach, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This work requires a dynamic skill set and problem‑solving ability.
Schedule:
Night Shift 6pm-6:30am (2-3-3 schedule).
Principal & Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform extraordinarily complex technical tasks and decision‑making.
Achieve and maintain Maintenance Tech III expert proficiency within 10 months of hire.
Demonstrate strong knowledge in PLC troubleshooting and interaction with PLC hardware.
Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair complex machinery, including AC/DC/Servo motor control systems and instrumentation control systems.
Collaborate with production associates and other technicians to solve problems with reliability and urgency.
Investigate and repair electrical and mechanical systems/machinery. Perform preventative maintenance and maintain work records.
Conduct root cause analysis on system and equipment malfunctions and efficiencies; report unusual, inefficient, or dangerous mechanical and electrical situations.
Seek ways to drive plant and maintenance cost efficiencies.
Role model and mentor Maintenance Technicians, providing hands‑on training and direction to lower‑level mechanics and techs.
Utilize appropriate safety precautions, methods, and apparatuses to minimize exposure to chemicals, dust, and mechanical and electrical hazards.
Work all required work schedules.
Minimum Education High School Diploma or GED, High School Diploma or GED and Equivalent Experience.
Experience Requirements
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
8+ years experience in industrial maintenance, troubleshooting, problem‑solving and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment, and/or equivalent military experience.
Expert proficiency in hydraulics, mechanics, electrical, PLC, welding and rigging. Maintain Perdue Farms QEW Certification.
Commitment to continuous learning to achieve increasing levels of expertise.
Experience Preferred 2‑yr Technical Degree in Engineering or Industrial Maintenance.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
Sitting, standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, reaching overhead and/or at shoulder level, lifting up to 50 lbs., and repetitive tasks throughout the day.
Occasional movement to other offices or buildings.
Day travel to nearby locations sometimes required.
May need to access files, supplies, and equipment.
Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors with metal and plastic grating surfaces.
Temperature ranges 28–100°F with 100% humidity; may handle product between 25–50°F.
Noise exposure 50–110 dB.
May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing plant.
Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
