Harris Health System is the public healthcare safety‑net provider established in 1966 to serve the residents of Harris County, Texas. Job Summary Responsible for patrolling, protecting and securing all Harris Health System buildings and grounds, promoting safety and security at all locations. Responds to crisis intervention activations, prevents patient elopements and assists medical staff with restraints as requested.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
At least one year of experience in security, criminal justice, military, healthcare, or related fields
Licenses & Certifications
IAHSS Basic Security Officer Training Program completed within six months of employment
Valid Texas Driver’s License
Basic Life Support from a hospital‑based AHA program
Aggression Management certification or equivalent within 30 days; if another cert is held at hire, must be recertified as Aggression Management upon expiration
Registered with the Texas Private Security Bureau (TPSB III) within 90 days of employment
Communication Skills
Above average verbal and written communication
Proficiencies
Microsoft Word, PC, typing 20 WPM

Emergency (E‑1) availability during disaster situations
English language proficiency required
