Camp Host at Headwater – ExplorUS
The Camp Host position focuses on delivering a quality recreational experience for visitors within the Company‑operated campground or area. The host implements nearly all operational tasks required within their assigned site, providing excellent customer service, maintaining facilities, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for guests.
Responsibilities
Demonstrate courteousness and a helpful attitude to all visitors; provide excellent customer service by educating the public on rules and regulations.
Perform administrative tasks, including basic recordkeeping and fee collection.
Maintain facilities and grounds: clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms; empty trash containers; clean roadways, trails, campsites, picnic tables, fire rings, and grills; dispose of ashes.
Rake and groom sites and public areas; keep the venue litter‑free, picking up micro‑trash such as bottle caps and cigarette butts; maintain outlying areas such as trails, outposts, and rental cabins.
Build and maintain good working relationships with fellow employees, governmental agency representatives, and the visiting public.
Register campers, collect fees, and sell retail items such as firewood, ice, and concession goods in accordance with company policy.
Process revenue and fee collection data using company‑approved forms and procedures.
Be familiar with local points of interest, nearby facilities, and local rules and regulations.
Report problems and any unsafe or hazardous conditions as they are discovered.
Requirements
Strong customer service skills; enjoy working in an environment with extensive public contact.
Basic manual labor abilities, including an ability and willingness to clean and sanitize facilities with a variety of cleaning agents and chemicals.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Basic recordkeeping experience, including money handling.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision, learn quickly, and follow instructions accurately.
Willing to work a flexible work schedule, including regular evenings, weekends and holidays.
Able to lift 20 pounds on a frequent basis.
Ability to move safely over rough and uneven terrain.
Ability to work in extreme weather.
Able to tow own RV (where applicable) in and out of campgrounds in emergency situations.
