Qualifications
12 semester units ECE/CD with grade C or better, or CDA Credential or CTC
6 months related experience with children ages 0‑5 years
Associate Teacher Permit or higher
For HS/EHS/MSHS/State‑Braided Associate Teachers – meet at least one of the following:
CDA credential or California equivalent at hire (12 ECE semester units, including core courses; 6 infant/toddler units required for EHS and infant/toddler classrooms)
Enrolled in a CDA credential program to be completed within 2 years
Associate or bachelor’s degree (in any area) or enrolled in a program leading to such a degree
Valid California driver’s license, current DMV driving record, and proof of insurance may be required for job‑related travel
Reasonable accommodations will be considered in accordance with applicable laws
Responsibilities
Provide care and education for children ages 0‑5, ensuring a positive and engaging learning experience
Collaborate with the Center Supervisor and Teachers to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities
Assume the responsibilities of a Teacher in their absence, guiding and supporting instructional assistants, parents, and volunteers
Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for all children
Assist in planning and executing educational activities that promote child development
Participate in physical activities with children, including games, music, and outdoor play
Assist with bus supervision, ensuring the safety and engagement of children during transportation
Complete pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR training within the first 30 days of hire
Complete 16 hours of training on preventative health practices and nutrition, as required by Health and Safety Code, within the first 30 days of hire
