Position Overview
This position is for the Night Shift (Alternate Work Week): Monday through Thursdays, 3:00pm-1:00am.
Responsibilities
Deburring: Grinding, belting, filing, and other hand tools to remove burrs from edges of parts and establish our finish as required.
Metal Polishing: Buffing parts on a grinder using polishing compound.
Cleaning Parts: Using detergents, isopropyl alcohol, nitric acid, and deionized water. Inspecting parts and moving them out of the shop.
Drag Finishing Machine: Run and operate Rosler drag finisher, maintain centrifuge and water using proper chemicals per machine specs.
Lapper Machine: Run and operate Kemet lapping machine. Maintain polishing components, lubrication, and manufacturer cutting pads.
Laser Marker: Run laser marker wearing all required PPE to mark parts per print.
Typical Working Conditions, Equipment Used, and Essential Physical Tasks
Walking and standing on hard surface while using tools or machinery.
Sitting for periods of up to 2 hours.
Bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing, and lifting up-to 50 lbs.
Exposure to rotating and reciprocating parts.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Exposure to loud noises generated from manufacturing equipment.
Using scalpels, Exacto knives and sharp tooling.
The expected base salary range for this position is between $19.50-$20.50 per hour and the compensation offered will depend on the candidate’s qualifications. We offer company holidays, vacation and sick time off, medical, dental, vision, disability and life benefits as well as a 401(k) Plan.
Requirements
0-1 year of experience in finishing
Experience with finishing methods and tools
Basic understanding of reading drawings
General knowledge of quality policy, especially as related to product realization and recordkeeping - knowledge of personal safety requirements
Ability to finish product with minimal supervision but still requiring input from finishing department supervisor
Ability to finish some product independently
