Position Summary
We are looking for a skilled Diesel Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and related systems in trucks, buses, heavy equipment, or other diesel-powered vehicles. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, transmissions, and other mechanical systems
Perform preventative maintenance (PM) services on diesel vehicles and equipment
Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and fuel system issues
Test drive vehicles to ensure proper repair and functionality
Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation
Use diagnostic tools and software to identify faults and issues
Order parts and assist in inventory management as needed
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment
Communicate with service advisors or customers regarding repairs and timelines
Keep work area clean and organized
Job Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or diesel mechanic certification preferred
2+ years of experience as a diesel technician or similar role
Strong understanding of diesel engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools
Ability to read technical manuals and schematics
Proficient with hand tools and power tools
Strong problem-solving and time management skills
Valid driver’s license; CDL may be required or preferred
