Base pay range: $19.75/hr – $19.75/hr
About This Position The Cook is responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing a variety of food items in accordance with assigned work instructions, menus and guidelines while following food safety and food handling procedures. Demonstrates experience and knowledge in the preparation of hot and cold food items, standardized knife cuts, and multi‑task under pressure.
Essential Functions
Refers to Daily Prep List and completes opening and closing checklists daily.
Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
Safely uses a variety of kitchen utensils including knives and other items.
Knows and complies with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, recipes, policies, and procedures.
Handles, stores, labels, and rotates all products properly and in accordance with applicable state laws.
Preps ingredients and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations.
Be able to multitask in a high‑volume kitchen and handle hot and cold work conditions.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
What You'll Need
High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 18 years of age.
At least one year of relevant cooking experience required.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Experience with safety procedures typical in a cafeteria or food service environment.
