Housekeeper – Houston Courtyard Park Row (MCR Hotels) Job Summary : The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and preparing guest rooms, hallways, and public areas in the hotel, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, guest satisfaction, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Greet guests happily upon arrival and throughout their stay with a smile.

Use guests’ names whenever possible to ensure a warm welcome.

Work collaboratively with team members to achieve high guest satisfaction scores.

Handle challenging guest situations with hospitality and a sense of urgency.

Maintain strong knowledge of all hotel facilities and amenities.

Actively participate in hotel events and support groups as needed.

Understand and use relevant technology for housekeeping tasks.

Answer all incoming calls with friendly service using the approved greeting.

Keep all workspaces clean and well‑organized.

Pitch in to clean guest rooms and public spaces when required.

Complete all operational checklists accurately and on time.

Prepare shift handover reports that are accurate and timely.

Wear a clean, approved uniform and maintain a professional appearance.

Communicate clearly, honestly, and professionally with teammates.

Demonstrate a can‑do attitude and willingness to go beyond the normal role.

Collaborate at all levels to create a welcoming environment for guests.

Housekeeper‑Specific Duties

Pre‑cleaning and stocking: complete pre‑cleaning duties, stock room supplies and tools on an assigned work cart, attend morning stand‑up meetings, fold and/or assist with dirty linen in the housekeeping laundry room.

Clean and stock rooms: thoroughly clean and restock the required number of guest rooms as assigned per shift.

Additional cleaning projects: perform tasks assigned by direct supervisor in storage rooms, public spaces, guest laundry, room deep cleaning, as needed; keep front and back of house areas organized and clean.

Qualifications & Requirements

Preferred: Experience in hospitality, service, or consumer‑facing franchise or related field.

Positive, can‑do attitude and willingness to learn.

Ability to follow guidelines, understand and follow established procedures.

Work well in high‑pressure situations.

Effective listener with conflict resolution skills.

Clear communication skills.

Guest service orientation.

Age requirement: 18 years or older.

Willing to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays based on hotel demands.

Clock‑in/clock‑out on time for every shift; never work off the clock.

Clock in/out for breaks at the designated time.

Provide sufficient notice for call‑outs according to supervisor instructions.

Physical Working Demands & Working Environment

Stooping: bend at waist and use lower extremities and back muscles.

Climbing: ascend/descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, etc.

Balancing: maintain equilibrium on narrow or slippery surfaces.

Kneeling: bend knees to rest on one or both knees.

Crawling: move on hands and knees or hands and feet.

Standing: remain upright on feet for sustained periods.

Walking: move by foot for long distances or between work sites.

Repetitive motions: substantial wrist, hand, or finger movements.

Lifting: carry housekeeping items such as linens, trash, or vacuums.
