Position Full Time Class B Driver at our Indianapolis IN Terminal.

Pay Starting at $26.01 per hour, $29.36 per hour after the first year.

Hours Monday-Friday, Dayshift.

Position Summary Drive a straight truck between customer locations to deliver and pick up freight.

Essential Functions

Operates a commercial vehicle safely while picking up and delivering general freight.

Loads and unloads truck either individually or with assistance of dockworkers. Mechanical freight handling equipment may be used where available and appropriate.

Performs frequent lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying of freight.

Secures freight via strapping or other methods.

Inspects the vehicle for defects and safe operating conditions as required by law and company policy.

Complies with all federal requirements regarding the transportation of hazardous materials.

Drives straight truck in all conditions in accordance with federal regulations, observing hours of service and required off‑duty periods.

Maintains records required for compliance with state and federal regulations, including driver’s logs and other records required by law.

Performs all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and complies with all federal, state, and local regulations for the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum age of 21.

Minimum of 1 year of verifiable Class B equipment experience.

All drivers must pass a road test administered by a Dohrn Transfer Driver Trainer.

Must possess, or obtain within the required time period, Hazardous Material and Tanker endorsements on current valid driver’s license issued by the resident state in which they reside.

Must possess only one valid CDL issued by the resident state.

No record of DUI / OWI or Reckless Driving within the previous 5 years.

Must have and maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and functional screen.

Must consent to a pre‑employment drug screen. Negative results required.

Negative controlled substance and alcohol results from prior employer(s) for the past three‑year period.

No refusal to submit to alcohol or controlled substance tests within the past three years.

Must consent to a 10‑year work‑history check. Gaps of 30 days or more must be listed and explained.

Must be able to read and write English and perform simple mathematical calculations.

Employment is at‑will; no contract of employment guaranteed.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

Grip various sizes and weights of up to 100 lbs.

Lifting up to 100 lbs from ground level to 45 inches; lifting at waist level or 36 inches.

Front carry up to 100 lbs for 250 ft.

Push/pull up to 60 lbs of horizontal force.

Sitting up to 10 hours per day.

Standing and walking frequently.

Climbing, squatting, crouching, balancing, or kneeling occasionally.

Crawling rarely.

Reaching frequently while shifting gears, moving freight, loading and unloading trailers and turning steering wheel, and closing rear trailer doors.

Grasping and handling freight repeatedly while loading/unloading, opening/closing trailer doors, turning steering wheel, and lowering front jacks.

Must speak with coworkers and customers to safely perform functions.

Vision is used constantly while driving, reading maps, inspecting truck.

Smell used occasionally to check for leaks.

Hearing used frequently to listen for unusual sounds or warning sounds of vehicle problems.

May be exposed to extreme temperatures, humidity, or wetness.

May be exposed to dust, gas, fumes, or chemicals.
