Juvenile Correctional Officer – Part‑Time
Position Schedule:
Every Thursday and Friday, 8 p.m.–6 a.m. and every other weekend.
Job Purpose and Objectives:
Provide a safe environment for the youth to learn socially acceptable behaviors, supervise the youth, teach new coping strategies, and provide physical, medical, and emotional care. Responsibilities include maintaining proper supervision, interpersonal relations, and security.
Position Requirements and Qualifications
High‑school diploma or G.E.D., plus at least three (3) semester hours of college level study in adolescent development, psychology, or a related field; or 45 hours of documented training in child care or child development; or one (1) year of experience as a youth care worker or house parent in a similar facility.
Must be at least 21 years old and able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
Employee must obtain and maintain all required certifications.
Certifications / Licenses
Valid Kansas driver’s license.
Seniority Level Entry level.
