Base pay range $20.00/hr - $25.00/hr
Overview We are a leading steel fabrication and construction company dedicated to excellence, safety, and customer satisfaction. The Journeyman I will perform steel erection, fabrication, and installation, including structural steel assembly, welding, and rigging. Key Responsibilities
Structural Steel Erection:
Assist with layout, assembly, and installation of structural steel components (beams, columns, trusses) according to project plans and specifications.
Use hand and power tools, welding equipment, and rigging gear to position and secure steel elements, ensuring proper alignment and fit.
Welding and Fabrication:
Perform welding and cutting operations (stick, MIG, oxyacetylene) to fabricate and repair steel components.
Interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and shop drawings to ensure accuracy and quality.
Rigging and Hoisting:
Assist with rigging and hoisting operations to lift and position steel components using cranes, hoists, and rigging equipment following safety procedures.
Inspect rigging equipment and hardware for wear or damage and report issues to supervisor.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety regulations, policies, and procedures, and promote a culture of safety awareness.
Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions; report hazards or incidents immediately.
Quality Assurance:
Perform visual inspections to check fit, alignment, and weld quality; make adjustments or repairs as needed.
Assist with quality control inspections and testing to meet project specifications and industry standards.
Team Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with crew members, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to ensure efficient completion of tasks.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, foremen, and project managers to provide updates on progress and issues.
