Horizon Europe - MSCA Is the Job related to staff position within a Research Infrastructure? No
Offer Description I am pleased to invite applications for a
Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA-PF)
in my laboratory within the
Ecosustainable Marine Biotechnology (BlueBio)
department at the
Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn (SZN) , Naples, Italy.
Project Focus: The fellowship will investigate the
role of lipid-derived secondary metabolites in diatoms , with emphasis on
prostaglandins (PUFA-derived molecules)
and their physiological and ecological functions. The work will combine
functional genomics, omics approaches, and CRISPR/Cas-based tools
to study biosynthetic pathways and regulatory networks in model species (Skeletonema marinoi, Thalassiosira rotula) and other planktonic organisms.
Genomics and transcriptomics (gDNA/RNA sequencing, bioinformatics)
Microalgal culture and chemical extraction
Molecular biology and biochemistry for gene expression and functional analysis
Host Environment: The BlueBio department focuses on marine microorganisms and bioactive metabolites for biotechnological applications. Our facilities are located in a modern building overlooking the sea in central Naples—a vibrant city rich in culture and history.
Candidate Profile: We seek motivated researchers with expertise in molecular biology, bioinformatics, or marine biotechnology. Experience with algal systems or lipidomics is an asset. Candidates must hold a PhD in Life Sciences or a similar field and have at least one publication coming from the PhD results.
How to Apply: Interested candidates should contact Dr. Valeria Di Dato at valeria.didato@szn.it to discuss project details and MSCA-PF application support.
