Teacher Aide-Bus Driver Location: Nassau County, New York (Long Island)

Description The Special Education/Transportation Department of the Nassau BOCES is currently seeking a Teacher Aide-Bus Driver for a 10‑month position at various locations in Nassau County, New York.

Responsibilities

Assists in overseeing students.

Proctors and helps conduct examinations.

Assists teachers in correcting test papers and assignments, recording grades, maintaining files, and preparing statistical reports.

Operates a school bus to transport children.

Requirements

Graduation from high school (or equivalent).

Valid New York State Driver’s License with no convictions for moving violations during the past year, appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated; must be at least 21 years of age.

Must satisfy Article 19‑A of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law and the School Bus Driver requirements set forth in the Rules and Regulations of the New York State Commissioner of Education.

Experience and/or training in a particular field where specialized duties are involved may be substituted for high school on a year‑for‑year basis, up to a maximum of two years.

Salary As per labor contract.
