Overview
We are seeking dedicated and adaptable Substitute Teachers to join the Trotwood-Madison City Schools Team. Substitute Teachers play a vital role in maintaining continuity of instruction in the absence of regular classroom teachers, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment for students across various grade levels and subjects.
Responsibilities
Deliver lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher, ensuring alignment with curriculum standards.
Manage classroom behavior to foster a safe and respectful learning environment.
Follow school policies and procedures, including safety and emergency protocols.
Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administration.
Maintain accurate records of attendance and other required documentation.
Support students with special needs or accommodations as outlined in lesson plans or IEPs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
High School Diploma
Valid substitute teaching certification or license (as required by the state of Ohio)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage a classroom and engage students effectively.
Flexibility to work on short notice and in various school settings.
Knowledge of instructional techniques and classroom management strategies.
Pass a background check and meet all district hiring requirements.
Work Environment
Temporary, as-needed basis with varying hours and locations within the district.
Work in diverse classroom settings, ranging from elementary to high school.
Interaction with students, teachers, and administrative staff in a fast-paced environment.
