Summary Orders, receives, stores, and maintains inventory of food products and supplies.
Responsibilities
Conduct inventory.
Place all food and supply orders for the department to maintain required levels.
Receive all department deliveries following food safety guidelines. Check deliveries for damaged, spoiled, or out‑of‑date items. Follow First In, First Out (FIFO) when putting away orders. Label and date items as required.
May prepare and deliver floor stock items.
Maintain all storage areas in a clean and organized condition.
Competencies Accountability, accuracy – food inventory, customer service, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), kitchen sanitation – staff, organization skills (4), patient and family centered care, patient safety – ancillary/support, problem solving, responding to change, standards of behavior.
Education and Certification Requirements No degree or other education earned (Required).
Additional Job Information Complexity of work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required work experience: No experience required.
