Always approaches all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly and service-oriented manner by maintaining a positive demeanor. Promotes a positive and caring work environment by addressing and resolving any conflict in a calm and poised manner. Engages and creates a positive experience for guests. Assists with event preparation, set up, and closing, including setting up and packing away tables, tablecloths and place settings, and buffets. Greets guests as they enter a venue and helps them to find their seats. Sees to the comfort of guests through answering questions, taking orders, conveying special instructions to the kitchen and bar, and serving food and beverages. Circulates the room with trays of appetizers and beverages. Recommends beer or wine selections to guests. Maintains a friendly attitude, attending all guests in an efficient and prompt manner. Directs guests to necessary services and features and leads guests on tours of the location. Collects used dishes and utensils from tables and return them to the dishwashing area, making sure that all dishes and utensils are clean before use. Organizes special functions as directed by management. Stays current and up to date with all hotel’s special events. Projects a professional manner with an emphasis on hospitality and guest service. Maintains a clean, healthy, and safe working area along with awareness of all sanitary practices. Supports other staff to ensure guest satisfaction. Adheres to safety and quality regulations. Handles guest complaints and solve problem to the degree possible. Performs any other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 1 year of server and customer service experience required, hospitality industry preferred. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, or scheduled form. Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English in order to communicate with guests and team members. Knowledge of reservation and POS systems. Ability to work with computers and good knowledge of operating software preferred. Must be able to multi-task and be detail oriented. Must be a team player. Seniority level
