Monday–Friday (No on‑call; occasional Saturday work once per quarter)
Rate:
$40/hr W2
About the Role We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to support one of our direct clients in Baytown, TX. This role provides hands‑on infrastructure support across desktop, server, domain, and network environments for a large research network consisting of approximately 750 PCs, 60 network switches, 75 servers, and 1,000 users. The ideal candidate is a proactive IT professional with strong troubleshooting skills and experience supporting enterprise‑level hardware and software environments.
Key Responsibilities Network & Infrastructure Support
Install and support Cisco workgroup switches (programming new switches, patching fiber/copper, port modifications).
Provide support for network, domain, and server environments as needed.
Desktop & Hardware Support
Install, configure, and troubleshoot PC hardware (Dell, HP, etc.).
Install additional hardware components (Ethernet cards, memory, etc.).
Support server hardware installations (Dell).
Software & Application Support
Install and support software on PCs and servers (Microsoft, Symantec, SCCM).
Provide maintenance and updates through SCCM as required.
Peripheral Device Support
Support installation and troubleshooting of printers and barcode readers (HP, Xerox, Zebra).
Active Directory Administration
Manage users, groups, policies, and general AD maintenance.
Work Environment
Standard business hours (Mon–Fri)
No on‑call rotation
Quarterly Saturday work may be required for planned maintenance activities
