This role will be responsible for
Originating and merchandising assigned grain and/or feed commodities
Executing arbitrage opportunities across product and freight spreads
Managing procurement, logistics, and delivery via truck and rail
Performing daily cash position reconciliation and freight variance analysis
Supporting accurate P&L development and market pricing strategies
Expectations will include
Operating within established position limits and company policies
Providing timely and accurate pricing updates to customers
Managing overfills and underfills on grain contracts
Identifying and helping develop new market and growth opportunities
Leveraging internal resources and customer relationships to drive results
Actively engaging with industry trends, events, and relationships
A qualified candidate will possess the following
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, agriculture, or a related field
3+ years of agricultural experience in merchandising, sales, or marketing
Strong understanding of market risk within the agriculture industry
Proven knowledge of truck and rail logistics
Excellent planning, execution, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office or related business software
*Candidates must be eligible to work in the US as well as meet the qualifications listed above in order to be considered for the Commodity Merchandiser job.
Compensation: $100,000 per year
