Powder Coater – Nailor Industries, Inc. We are seeking a Powder Coater to join our manufacturing facility in northeast Houston, TX. Candidates must be available for first or second shifts.

Responsibilities

Surface Preparation: Clean, sandblast, or chemically treat metal surfaces to prepare them for coating. Remove grease, dirt, and other contaminants.

Application of Powder Coating: Use electrostatic spray guns to apply powder coating evenly to metal surfaces. Ensure proper coverage and thickness.

Operation of Equipment: Operate and maintain powder coating equipment, such as spray guns, ovens, and booths. Adjust settings to ensure optimal application.

Quality Control: Inspect coated items for defects such as uneven coverage, runs, or contamination. Re‑coat or touch up as necessary to meet quality standards.

Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper handling of chemicals and equipment.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including batch numbers, coating specifications, and inspection results.

Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on coating equipment and booths. Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed to minimize downtime.

Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including production supervisors and quality inspectors, to ensure smooth workflow and high‑quality output.

Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of powder coating materials and supplies. Order new materials as needed.

Qualifications

Prior experience in powder coating or industrial painting is preferred. Familiarity with powder coating techniques and equipment is highly desirable.

Ability to operate and maintain powder coating equipment. Understanding of different types of powder coatings and their applications.

Strong attention to detail to ensure high‑quality finishes and adherence to specifications.

Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks in a production environment.

Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to powder coating and industrial painting.

Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and supervisors.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Vocational training or certification in industrial painting or powder coating is a plus.

Working Conditions

The job is typically performed in a manufacturing or industrial setting. It may involve exposure to fumes, chemicals, and high temperatures.

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks, gloves, and safety goggles is required.
