Job Description

Position Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor helps maintain high levels of cleanliness within guest rooms and public areas through inspection, reporting, and cleaning. They also help train and manage staff. This position reports to the Director of Housekeeping.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 to $28.00 per hour; actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience.

Essential Job Functions/Key Job Responsibilities

Help train and manager housekeeping staff

Brief housekeeping staff on events, occupancy of the day, and the cleaning focus of the day

Provide housekeeping staff with necessary tools to complete cleaning assignments

Monitor the speed of housekeeping staff to ensure all duties are completed in a timely manner

Make housekeeping boards with the cleaning focus of the day

Inspect rooms and public areas for overall cleanliness

Maintain constant communication with front desk about early arrivals, late departures, and room requests

Stay abreast on occupancy of the day, departure and arrivals, event(s) of the day, VIP rooms, special requests, and guest reviews

Assist in cleaning rooms and public areas as needed

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education & Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required

2 years of management experience preferred

5 years of housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Proficient knowledge of industry trends and best practices

Proficient knowledge in company policies and procedures

Detailed knowledge of internal processes, workflows, and decision-making protocols

Proficient knowledge of employee management strategies, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution techniques.

Ability to mediate and resolve conflicts effectively to maintain team cohesion

Skill in assigning tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their strengths

Skills in coaching and mentoring team members to help them grow professionally

Proficiency in planning, managing, and executing projects within scope and deadlines

Ability to handle difficult customer interactions and ensure high levels of satisfaction

Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously without sacrificing quality

Ability to communicate in English and Spanish

Additional Information

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand or be on your feet, kneel and bend for extended periods of time

Regularly work in adverse conditions and required to use protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials as well as an office environment and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces

Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)
