Executes routine refurbishment, modification, rework, and test tasks to update industrial gas turbine packages to customer expectations. Applies a sound base of knowledge in related fields, conforms to all safety, environmental and electrical standards in updating packages. Assures lower level technicians are learning to apply similar standards to their work.
Nature and Scope Working with a broad base of mechanical, electronic, hydraulic, welding and/or painting knowledge, executes activities required to complete refurbishment committed to customers, on time schedules. Works under general supervision or as a member of a team of peers. Works from well documented instructions, including engineering drawings and schematics. Operates shop equipment, bench tools, hand tools, and inspection equipment. Applies familiarity with conduit assembly techniques, tubing bending, and other assembly techniques in daily assignments. Trains others on same.
Assignments
Tearing down packages, detecting refurbishment needs based on the condition of parts, making final changes to the work estimates in consultation with engineers.
Painters should be able to clean, prepare parts, maintain paint booth, and paint all parts and equipment, as required.
Performs various tests on subcomponents and portions of the package. Maintains test equipment and facilities.
Performs any of the jobs necessary in small components.
Can be assigned welding tasks in support of certified welders.
Any other tasks related to delivery of turbomachinery refurbishment to comply with customer needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of LN/BAAN ERP systems with practical experience in managing and tracking production orders.
Skilled in forklift operation with a strong emphasis on workplace safety and efficiency.
Demonstrated organizational skills, ensuring accurate documentation, streamlined workflows, and effective prioritization of tasks.
Willingness to learn and develop teaming skills while contributing positively to a team-oriented work environment.
Completion of a formal training program in gas turbine engine maintenance, refurbishment, and overhaul, or specialized training in areas such as electronics; equivalent work experience also applicable.
Solid working knowledge of tools and equipment required for maintenance and repair operations.
Comprehensive understanding of safety and environmental restrictions governing facility operations, with a commitment to compliance and best practices.
Summary Pay Range $51,674.00 - $77,510.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
