Responsibilities
Perform connects, disconnects, upgrades, downgrades, and relocates; install additional outlets and remove equipment.
Install basic cable wiring and hardware from the tap to the customer’s equipment for reception of cable and other company services.
Perform all work to conform to quality control guidelines (OSHA, FCC, NEC, NESC).
Assure proper signal levels and picture quality on all television sets; clean the premises of all debris after installation.
Promote cable, internet, and other company services; educate the customer on proper use of the service.
Clean, maintain, stock, and secure assigned vehicle and equipment.
Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.
Qualifications
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must follow TDS attendance guidelines and meet business needs.
Upon hire, pass all required customer‑specific background checks.
Available for on‑call/standby responsibilities; willing to work overtime as needed.
Successfully complete all components of the Safety Course curriculum.
Maintain DOT requirements for operating vehicles with a combined GVRW >10,000 lbs.
Strong work ethic, team‑player, and practical knowledge of computer applications.
Demonstrated customer service, sales skills, and effective communication (verbal and written).
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment; physical ability to dig, lift, and climb.
Successful completion of the SCTE Broadband Premise Install test within the first 3 months of employment.
Physical Demands and Work Environment Requires regular sitting, standing, writing, and operating a computer keyboard and telephone. Frequently move, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. May lift up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally. Exposed to moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, and possible extreme weather conditions.
