Aramark invites you to join our team in the Food Prep Worker role at UTSA – JPL. This position supports our commitment to quality food service and sanitation standards.
Job Description The Food Prep Worker prepares, portions, and cooks meals while adhering to Aramark production requirements and sanitation standards. Daily worksheets and standardized recipes guide cooking activities, and work areas remain clean and organized.
Job Responsibilities
Prepare all food items using prep lists and Aramark recipes.
Follow proper food handling procedures.
Maintain accurate rotation of food to assure top quality and freshness.
Manage leftover foods correctly: cover, label, date, and store per Aramark standards.
Keep refrigerators and work areas clean and orderly.
Ensure stations are cleaned, sanitized, and organized at shift end, including kitchen equipment.
Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment that conforms to all food safety standards and regulations.
Follow safety policies and accident reporting procedures.
Complete all required training.
Qualifications
Minimum one-year prep work or food service‑related work preferred.
Knowledge of food prep, proper knife handling, temperature control, and sanitation is helpful.
Must be able to read and write to facilitate communication with others.
Demonstrates basic math and counting skills.
Physical demands may include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing. Uniforms and/or personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
