Responsibilities Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of all campus buildings, including offices, dormitories, chapel, conference rooms, library, and common areas.
Proactively identify, perform, or coordinate repairs in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, drywall, tile, and minor A/C systems (training provided where needed).
Provide high‑level floor care, including sweeping, mopping, waxing, and buffing to preserve and enhance campus appearance.
Oversee the cleanliness and turnover of dormitory and laundry rooms after guest or student use.
Maintain outdoor spaces, including lawn care, shrub trimming, edging, and tree maintenance, ensuring the grounds are always well‑kept and inviting.
Coordinate and engage external vendors for specialized repairs, equipment servicing, and contracted maintenance work.
Maintain professional relationships with vendors, ensuring timely, cost‑effective, and high‑quality service delivery.
Liaise with the IT Department and technology vendors regarding the technical systems and infrastructure of the buildings, including A/V equipment, security systems, and network hardware.
Monitor building systems and report major repair needs or supply requirements to the Buildings and Grounds Manager.
Collaborate with campus leadership to support special projects and events, ensuring spaces are prepared and functioning.
Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset, taking initiative to enhance both the appearance and efficiency of campus facilities.
Requirements Hands‑on expertise in general maintenance, including carpentry, painting, basic electrical work, plumbing, drywall repair, and tile installation.
Proficiency in floor care techniques, including waxing, buffing, stripping, and sealing to maintain a polished and professional environment.
Groundskeeping knowledge for lawn care, landscaping, shrub trimming, and tree maintenance to ensure an inviting and well‑groomed campus exterior.
Ability to assess and troubleshoot facility issues and either complete repairs or coordinate with specialized vendors when needed.
Familiarity with building systems and technical infrastructure, including basic A/V equipment, HVAC systems, and network‑related components (training available).
Strong organizational skills to track maintenance schedules, supply needs, and vendor relationships efficiently.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to liaise effectively with the Buildings and Grounds Manager, campus leadership, and IT team.
Initiative‑driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement, problem‑solving, and taking pride in maintaining a top‑quality facility.
Physical stamina and agility to handle manual tasks, lift up to 50 lbs, and work both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
