As a Counsellor, you will play a key role in providing a safe, enriching, and memorable experience for students in an elite summer programme. Your responsibilities include ensuring student safety through daily engagement and organizing events and activities under the guidance of Junior Deans and programme leadership. This role suits confident, responsive individuals who excel at communicating with young people and working collaboratively in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities
Student Safety: Ensure student safety during activities and routines, addressing any concerns promptly. Act as the first point of contact for student issues. Representing Oxford Royale: Uphold Oxford Royale’s values and professionalism, building positive relationships with students and staff. Student Experience: Engage with students daily, help plan and execute activities and excursions, and support academic programs, debates, and public speaking. Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with other Counsellors, Junior Deans, and leadership, setting high standards of safety and behaviour. Administration and Compliance: Follow health and safety guidelines, maintain student registers, and report incidents. Person Specification
Team player, fully engaged in Oxford Royale's activities. Fluent in English, with strong initiative, organisational skills, and the ability to build relationships with diverse individuals. Essential Qualifications / Experience
Experience working with young people. Good situational awareness. A-Levels or equivalent, and at least one year of higher education. Desirable Experience
Experience working with relevant age groups, leading teams, and managing under pressure. Flexible and proactive. Position Details
Based at a summer site in Oxford, Cambridge, or London. Approximately 40 hours per week across 6 days, including morning, afternoon, and night shifts. Courses for international students aged 12-18, running from July to mid-August. Contracts available for 2, 4, or 6 weeks. Mandatory training and campus setup before student arrivals. Session Dates
