Overview Southwell Pharmacy is seeking a responsible and reliable Pharmacy Delivery Driver to ensure the timely and safe delivery of prescription medications and other healthcare products to its patients. Under the direction of the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) and Ambulatory Director of Pharmacy Services, the Pharmacy Delivery Driver will serve as a vital link between Southwell Pharmacy and its surrounding communities. The ideal candidate will exhibit an understanding of pharmaceutical and over‑the‑counter products, compliance with pertinent pharmacy regulations including HIPAA, and a history of providing friendly and professional customer service. This role demands attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and professionalism both on the road and when interacting with customers.

Responsibilities

Deliver prescription medications, medical supplies, and other pharmacy products to patients following proper handling and safety procedures.

Verify the identity of each recipient and cross‑check delivery details to ensure prescription medications are delivered accurately to the correct patient, following all protocols for patient safety, privacy, and legal compliance.

Handle temperature‑sensitive medications according to storage and transportation requirements (e.g., cold chain compliance).

Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA and pharmacy regulations.

Communicate clearly and professionally with pharmacy staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues.

Provide courteous, professional service during each delivery and act as a representative of Southwell Pharmacy to ensure a positive customer experience.

Manage delivery routes efficiently, using GPS or routing software, while accommodating urgent or same‑day delivery needs as required.

Escalate any patient concerns, delivery barriers, or safety risks to the supervising pharmacist or manager immediately.

Assist in the pharmacy (inpatient or retail) during slower delivery periods.

Maintain the courier vehicle, including maintenance needs and cleanliness.

Manage fuel card and submit receipts for fuel and maintenance in a timely manner.

Obey all traffic laws while using the company vehicle.

Report promptly any accidents, incidents, or losses as per Southwell policies and procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Preferred Previous experience as a delivery driver for a pharmacy.
