Job Description As a Security Officer – Unarmed Utilities Patrol in Berlin, CT, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as utilities. In this part‑time role you will monitor and patrol designated utility locations, helping to deter security‑related incidents and providing a visible presence. You will conduct routine patrols, interact with visitors and staff, and deliver outstanding customer service.
Position Details
Position Type: Part-Time
Pay Rate: $19.75 / Hour
Schedule: Sat 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM; Sun 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM

What You’ll Do
Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security concerns.
Monitor for unusual activity or potential hazards within the utility environment and promptly report findings according to site procedures.
Collaborate with site personnel and Allied Universal management to address security matters and support a secure environment for employees, visitors, and assets.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of patrols, incidents, and security observations as required.
Minimum Requirements
Access control or badge experience preferred.
Comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
Customer service experience preferred.
A state, county, or city issued security license preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and may be required prior to employment.
Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.
