Job Description and Duties
Office Technician (T) – Under the direction of the Inmate Assignment Lieutenant, responsible for overall paperwork flow, processing inmate ducats, tracking systems, performing computer updates, designing and technical support, knowledge of Access, Word, Excel, ERMS, SOMS systems, and data entry for the Inmate Assignment office.
Office Assistant (T) – Under the direction of the Inmate Assignment Correctional Lieutenant and general supervision of the Mailroom Office Services Supervisor I (OSSI), process incoming inmate mail, search and route mail to appropriate housing units, distribute staff and intra/institutional mail, maintain inmate roster reflecting inmate movement, process priority/certified/registered/legal mail, maintain mail logs, utilize SOMS/ERMS and other computer programs to find accurate housing for transferred inmates, ensure timely re-routing of mail, and act as a responsible representative of the Mail Room in the absence of supervisory staff.
Term: 12 months, may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.
Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position.
