Position Overview Coordinates and organizes day‑to‑day CT operations, including work assignments of CT technologists, diagnostic imaging aides, and students. Expertly performs routine and specialized radiology procedures to produce high‑quality images for physicians and other health care providers. Implements and updates policies, procedures, and protocols to streamline workflow, improve efficiency, and strengthen radiation protection/safety measures. Ensures timely delivery of accurate imaging services and oversees equipment maintenance and operation. Serves as liaison among Diagnostic Imaging, staff, physicians, patients, families, and other hospital staff. Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care.
Job Description Sign‑On Bonus:
$8,000, available to external candidates per Sutter Health policy.
Education & Certification
Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT)
BLS – Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
Radiology Fluoroscopy (RHF) within 180 days of hire if required at the affiliate
Typical Experience
8+ years recent relevant experience
Skills and Knowledge
Demonstrated specialized expertise in diagnostic CT principles, procedures, views, and equipment; significant experience responding to traumas, code blues, medical alerts, STAT calls and hospital emergencies.
Proficient in performing CT examinations with in‑depth knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology to recognize, prioritize and communicate suspicious abnormalities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining sensitive information clearly to diverse audiences.
Time‑management and organizational skills to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods.
Broad knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, RIS, LIS, EHR (EPIC), and PACS.
Ability to prioritize and delegate assignments based on experience, procedures, policies, and best practices.
Capacity to work autonomously and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks amid interruptions.
Data analysis skills to solve problems with little or no precedent.
Process‑improvement mindset to enhance team efficiency.
Commitment to patient PHI privacy.
Building collaborative relationships with peers and other health care providers.
