About the Role G3 Aerospace is seeking a hands‑on CNC 5‑Axis Router Operator to support production of aerospace interior components and related parts. This role is focused on machine operation, setup, quality checks, and troubleshooting, not programming.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working on the shop floor, following established CNC programs, setting up fixtures and tooling, and ensuring parts are produced safely, efficiently, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
Operate
5‑axis CNC routers
in a production environment
Set up machines according to setup sheets, fixtures, and work instructions
Load and unload parts, fixtures, and tooling
Verify correct tools, offsets, and work holding prior to running programs
Monitor machining operations to ensure parts meet quality and dimensional requirements
Perform in‑process inspections and basic dimensional checks
Identify and troubleshoot common machining issues (tool wear, chatter, part movement, surface finish issues)
Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and housekeeping
Accurately complete job travelers, inspection records, and production documentation
Assist with packaging, labeling, and preparation of finished parts for shipment
Work closely with programmers, engineers, and quality to resolve production issues
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
Required Qualifications
2+ years
experience operating CNC routers (5‑axis preferred)
Experience setting up fixtures, tooling, and work offsets
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
Familiarity with basic measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, go/no‑go gauges, etc.)
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to assist with other shop‑floor duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Experience operating
5‑axis CNC routers
Background in aerospace, interiors, plastics, composites, or thermoformed parts
Experience with trim operations and complex part geometries
Familiarity with CNC router platforms
Basic understanding of G‑code (for awareness and troubleshooting, not programming)
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to lift up to
50 lbs
occasionally
Prolonged standing, bending, and working around moving machinery
Moderate noise environment typical of a manufacturing shop
